More than 70 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across the country got a much-needed economic boost just ahead of the Christmas holidays, with the 2025 staging of Sagicor Bank’s BizFair, powered by Mastercard.

This display of strong entrepreneurial spirit and resilience delivered two vibrant events, the first on December 11, 2025, at the Bank’s headquarters on Dominica Drive in Kingston, followed by the expanded western flagship event on December 13, 2025, at Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay.

The marketplace, which had its inaugural staging last year, amplified Sagicor Bank’s role as the financial partner of choice for SMEs, an essential sector that accounts for 80% of Jamaica’s jobs and drives economic growth and innovation.

Sagicor Bank CEO Chorvelle Johnson Cunningham acknowledged the value of the entrepreneurs in attendance, stating, “Small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of Jamaica’s economy. They are creators, problem solvers, innovators, and employers, and they deserve a platform that helps them shine.” She said, “Given that many businesses, particularly outside of Kingston, are still rebuilding after Hurricane Melissa, expanding the event to Montego Bay was a conscious decision to support broader economic recovery.”

With the return of the ‘Meet the CEO’ lounge, business owners sat with Johnson Cunningham for well-received business insights. “One of my favourite parts of BizFair is sitting with entrepreneurs,” she added. “Their courage and creativity push us as a bank to keep innovating.” Both events in Kingston and Montego Bay featured approximately 73 vendors, from sectors such as home goods, beauty, fashion, food and beverage, automotive care, creative industries, and agriculture. The Montego Bay edition featured a special live performance from Ding Dong at Harmony Beach Park, creating a memorable experience for shoppers and exhibitors alike.

With the Mastercard partnership, Sagicor Bank offered seamless digital payment solutions at both stagings, including POS terminals and tap-to-pay, advancing the shared goal of increasing cashless transactions and building financial literacy among SMEs and consumers.

Sagicor Bank continues to bolster the MSME sector through initiatives like this and others, such as Women in Business, Secrets to Success, the POS Merchant Loan, and the internationally recognised Business Resource Centre, which hosted World Bank Group President Ajay Banga and global parliamentarians in 2023.

With another successful execution completed, Johnson Cunningham confirmed the bank’s continued commitment, “Sagicor Bank will always stand with Jamaica’s entrepreneurs. We will continue to create spaces, solutions, and opportunities that help small businesses grow, scale, and thrive. When our SMEs succeed, Jamaica succeeds.”
