Sagicor Financial rewards top performers during Grand Gala and Group Awards

Top performers across Sagicor Financial Company Ltd. were recognised for their outstanding achievements over the past year during the company’s Grand Gala and Group Awards, held on Thursday, June 18. In honour of the company’s 185th anniversary, marked in November 2025, the event was held alongside the Group’s biennial Convention.

Under the theme Masterpiece: The 185th Signature Edition, the evening paid tribute to excellence across both Sales and Administrative functions. The first award of the evening was presented in the category, Leading Advisor or Producer, Persistency or Conservation. This was won by Aldria Grant of Jamaica, Shameka Casimir of Antigua and Barbuda, Leila Faustin of Aruba, Debra Pierre-Daniel of Trinidad and Tobago and Andrew Mason of Barbados.

Multiple winners were also recognised in the category, Leading Advisor Cases. These were Junielle Owens of Jamaica, David Lawrence of Trinidad and Tobago, Corey Watson of Barbados and Sonika McKie of Grenada. Lawrence and Watson further distinguished themselves by securing additional awards in the categories of Leading Advisor or Producer, First Year Commission, Annualised Premium Income, and Net Annualised Premium Income, bringing their total to two awards each for the evening. Also recognised in this category were Pius Auguste of Saint Lucia, who emerged as the overall winner for the Eastern Caribbean and Belize, Gregory Lyder of Aruba and Jheanel Dixon of Jamaica.

Awards were also distributed in the Sales Management category. Awardees included Jermaine Tomlinson of Jamaica, Jhavon Felmine of Trinidad and Tobago, Daniel Lovell of Barbados, Loeri Robinson of Jamaica, Adrian King of Barbados, Arnold Cumberbatch of Antigua and Barbuda and Ian Bourne of Jamaica.

In the highly anticipated Administrative category, two-time nominee Leeanna Joseph of Grenada copped Group Pioneer of the Year. Additionally, two winners were awarded in the category of Group Contributor of the Year in Kirk Shaw of Jamaica and Safiyah Muhammad of Trinidad and Tobago. The evening culminated with the presentation of the prestigious Sagicorian Employee of the Year and Sagicorian Manager of the Year awards. These were won by Kim Beckles of Barbados and Marlene Martin of Canada, respectively.

Speaking on the evening’s theme, Sagicor Financial’s Chief People Officer, Paula Walcott, said that it truly captured the spirit of the people, their achievements and their masterpieces, which now formed part of the company’s legacy.

“It is undeniable that our Sagicor collective masterpiece has a firm foundation, built on legacy and crafted in part by all our awardees and nominees who have been brave enough to act on a vision. Your masterpieces remind us, like those whose legacies were built in the past, that greatness is crafted with good intentions and one deliberate choice at a time – one wise financial thought at a time.”

Awardees also heard from Sagicor Financial’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Caribbean, David Noel, who delivered the feature address.

“It takes commitment, dedication, hard work, and constantly striving for excellence to be able to rise to the top of an organisation that has so many talented people,” he said. “You are truly the best of the best. You all play a part in building Sagicor’s masterpiece, given your individual performance. What you do matters not only to your individual pursuit of excellence but to your customers, clients, fellow Sagicorians and to the broader communities we serve.”

The evening concluded with a captivating LED light display, bringing the celebration to a fitting close.

The Sagicor Group Annual Awards represent the pinnacle of the company’s reward and recognition programme, highlighting the outstanding contribution of team members across the Group’s operating network.
