Sagicor Group Jamaica announces senior management changes

Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited has announced the elevation of Dr Sharma Taylor to head of group legal, trust & corporate services, replacing Janice Grant Taffe, who goes on retirement effective July 31.

Taylor, who joined the group on June 1, will take up her new office on August 1.

In a statement published by the Jamaica Stock Exchange, Sagicor Group Jamaica advised that, with this appointment, Taylor who will report to Group President & CEO Chris Zacca, will provide added capabilities to the legal team and, more particularly, focus on the management of the complex commercial transactions as well as the legal and regulatory risks of the Group’s corporate strategies.

The group noted that Taylor comes with 16 years of proven track record in managing teams for the successful delivery of key organisational initiatives.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Law from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and Master of Laws Degree (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law as well as a Bachelors of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.
