SAINT International’s Nigerian supermodel-in-the-making Tomiwa fronts a new exclusive capsule collection for the French luxury fashion house Chloe with high-end l e-commerce brand Mytheresa.

Another day, another ultra-glam shoot for SAINT International star Tomiwa.

The Nigerian supermodel-in-the-making, who has called The City of Lights home since January last year, is on a roll working for luxury fashion houses Balmain, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Valentino with high visibility regularity.

Just out is her Gucci global advertising campaign lensed in Gotham in March for the luxury brand’s new G-Timeless timepiece collection shortly after her runway turns for New York Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2022 collections. And if that weren’t enough, Tomiwa is now starring online in a fiercely fabulous tie-dye capsule collection for the Parisian luxury fashion house Chloe’s exclusive collaboration with the high-end German e-commerce platform, Mytheresa, shot by Zora Sicher.

“The Chloe shoot was awesome,” Tomiwa shared on the phone with Our Today on a break from a magazine photo shoot in Paris. “There was a sense of familiarity already, so the vibe on-set was really smooth, everyone was so cool which is what every model wants” she pointed out. The ebony stunner, a former nursing student from Osun State in Nigeria, has worked with the Chloe brand multiple times, and was also prominently featured last month on Mytheresa for the much-talked about Disney x Givenchy collab collection, that was exclusively available through the online portal.

The African beauty was discovered online by SAINT chief executive officer Deiwght Peters three years ago. The modelmaker’s uncanny knack for spotting and magnifying black talent on the international fashion stage rang true once more when he exclusively booked the Nigerian for the Celine Fall/Winter 2019 show in Paris. A floodgate of high-fashion assignments would subsequently follow for Dior, Marni, Tod’s, and landing a global advertising campaign for Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 which co-starred American supermodel Bella Hadid.

Having now become a resident walking mannequin for Chloe’s creative director Gabriela Hearst catwalk collections, Tomiwa is naturally a fan of the Uruguayan-American fashion designer’s work. “I love Chloe’s sustainable pieces the most. They use recycled materials which is very good for the environment,” she explained to Our Today.

The new 16-piece Mytheresa x Chloe collection was sustainably developed using an all-over tie dye print made using a slow dyeing process that involces indigo and ice.

The Chloe prints, photographed digitally, appear on a fringed hoodie cape, a dress and slides. Other pieces include maxi skirts and dresses, flared trousers, ponchos and knit dresses. Accessories included braided slide shoes, handbags and the Edith pouch.
