The ‘City of Lights’ shone brighter with a parade of SAINT International stars for the recently concluded Paris Haute Couture Week.

Jamaican supermodel Kai Newman and her ‘SAINT sisters’, Nigerian supermodel-in-the-making Tomiwa and Martinican stunner Aurelie Giraud, made the shortlist of the world’s top models who showcased the latest designer collections for high-end Parisian fashion houses Balenciaga, Paco Rabbane, Alaia, and Viktor & Rolf.

The Parisian couture collections marked a high point for Giraud. The model opened Balenciaga’s 51st couture show, which featured an A-list of celebrity guest models that included reality TV star-turned-billionaire entrepreneur Kim Kardashian, actress Nicole Kidman and singer Dua Lipa.

“I was very honoured to be the chosen one to open the show, and it was even more special as it was my first haute couture show,” Giraud shared with Our Today backstage at last Wednesday’s celebrity-filled front-row presentation for Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia’s aesthetic vision for womenswear and menswear.

“I have been working with Balenciaga for a few months now, and I admire how Demna and his team always create a new unexpected world for every show he does,” added Giraud, who was in Balenciaga’s Resort 2023 show at the American Stock Exchange back in May, and the fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2022 show in Paris in March.

Meanwhile, the Paris-based Nigerian SAINT Tomia was booked for Viktor & Rolf’s Fall Couture collection titled ‘Power Dressing: A Fashion Show in Three Acts’ by the fashion house’s namesake designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. She also appeared on the catwalk in Look 20 for creative director Julien Dossena’s Paco Rabanne collection.

SAINT’s resurgent supermodel Kai Newman, who currently stars in Prada Fall/Winter global advertising campaign, also touched down in Paris for Alaia’s new Spring 2023 collection from creative director Pieter Mulier.

Haute Couture Week, which presents one-of-a-kind luxury garments and is priced for an exclusive audience of the super-wealthy, is held biannually in Paris. The Fall 2022 haute couture collections were presented from July 4 to July 8. The Spring couture collections were shown back in January.
