Jamaican hotel conglomerate, Sandals Resorts International (SRI), is getting bigger in Antigua with plans to expand its local property by an addition 107 rooms.

Sandals has already submitted building plans to the government seeking permit to expand the Sandals Grande Antigua resort at Dickenson Bay.

Antiguan Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez, who made the announcement, said in addition to the 107 new rooms, Sandals is also adding a reverse osmosis plant to provide sufficient potable water for its guests.

Sandals Grande Antigua features seven bars and eleven restaurants, serving everything from pizza at Bella Napoli to Tex-Mex at OK Corral to sushi at Kimonos.

Voted the “World’s Most Romantic Resort” year after year, the adults-only Sandals Grande Antigua is located on Antigua’s best and most famous beach, Dickenson Bay.
