The Sandals Foundation chartered a flight stocked with relief supplies (food, hygiene, sanitary items, tarpaulin, infant supplies and more) which landed in Kingston from Miami last Friday (October 31).

Thanks to donors, Sandals was able to partner with parish municipal corporations and the Jamaica Defence Force to coordinate the delivery of thousands of cases of water to communities in St James, St Elizabeth and Westmoreland.

Western Jamaica suffered the brunt of category five Hurricane Melissa’s historic landfall last Tuesday and has been rendered effectively crippled.

Dozens of communities remain without access to electricity, water and internet access as road infrastructure remains severely compromised in the aftermath of the natural disaster.
