Saudi Arabia’s King, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Suad announced Wednesday, (November 23) as a public holding in celebration of the national football teams’ victory over Argentina.

King Salman declared Wednesday a public holiday for students and employees in the public and private sectors.

The Green Falcons caused a major upset on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over Argentina at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina took the lead when Lionel Messi scored the first goal from a penalty kick in the first ten minutes of the match, but Saudi Arabia later evened the score with the first goal by Al-Sheri in the 49th minute of the game. Saudi Arabia later secured the win in the 53rd minute with a second goal by Salem-Al Dorari.

Saudi Arabia is ranked 51st in the World Cup this year. Saudi Arabi is set to go up against Poland on Saturday (November 26).
