Application for CyberNauts, a fully online cybersecurity training program offering free upskilling to individuals in Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago, closes today, April 30.

 Training begins June 2.

Funded by a CA$900,000 investment from Scotiabank, CyberNauts will train 100 learners for entry-level careers in cybersecurity—an industry facing a global shortage of nearly 5 million professionals.

“Cybersecurity is one of the most in-demand fields globally, and we want to ensure Caribbean talent is part of that future,” said a Cyber Nations representative. “CyberNauts gives people the skills and access they need to launch a tech career, no matter their background.”

This programme follows successful rollouts in Canada and Barbados and arrives in Jamaica and Trinidad at a critical time.

“The digital economy can only thrive if it’s secure. Our investment in CyberNauts is about preparing communities to meet that challenge while creating new opportunities,” said Yanique Forbes Patrick, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Scotiabank. “It’s a win for economic resilience and regional growth.”

CyberNauts is part of ScotiaRISE, Scotiabank’s CA$500 million initiative to support community development and economic inclusion across its markets.
