Dancehall artiste Sean Paul has been nominated for ‘Crossover Artiste of the Year’ in the upcoming 2023 Latin Billboard Awards, a testament to his remarkable versatility and international appeal in the music industry.

This accolade is presented to artistes who achieve success in genres beyond their initial claim to fame.

The annual Billboard Latin Music Awards, set to take place on October 5 in Miami, celebrate outstanding artistes across various Latin musical genres, including pop, rock, and reggaeton.

Sean Paul, widely acclaimed for hits such as Temperature and Get Busy, took to his social media platforms to express gratitude and excitement, saying, “Honoured to be nominated as the Crossover Artist of the Year at the @latinbillboards 2023 awards. It’s been a pleasure working with the producers and artistes pushing the Latin culture forward.”

The Jamaican artiste is nominated among other prominent international artistes in the genre such as Lil Jon, Justin Timberlake, Maître Gims, and Marshmello.

Born Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, he is of mixed ethnicity with roots in Jamaica, China, and Portugal.

Known as the “Collaboration King”, Sean Paul has teamed notable Latin artistes such as J Balvin on the song Contra La Pared, Fied on Nina Bonita, and David Guetta and Becky G on the single Mad Love.
