Second Buju Banton ‘Long Walk To Freedom’ concert in July

Grammy award-winning artiste, Buju Banton has confirmed a second “Long Walk To Freedom” concert in New York next month.

The first staging was held in Jamaica at the National Stadium in Kingston on March 16, 2019, shortly after Buju’s release from prison after serving time for a drug conviction. Since then there has been an overwhelming demand for a second show. 

The New York  “Long Walk To Freedom” concert was confirmed by Brooklyn-based, Jamaican-born entertainment publicist, Ronnie Tomlinson, speaking with Caribbean Life on Friday.

She disclosed that the show will be on Sunday, July 14, at the UBS Arena in New York City. 

“Buju Banton, the reggae icon who has garnered international acclaim, is making a triumphant return to the United States after a 15-year-absence,” explained Tomlinson, chief executive officer of Destine Media.

She promised fans to expect a night filled with electrifying performances as Banton, accompanied by his Shiloh Band, takes the stage to deliver a stellar show on both July 13 and now on the added date of July 14.

With the first show selling out in record time, Tomlinson said the second show “ensures that more fans and music lovers will have the opportunity to witness the legendary artist’s comeback.”

Long Walk To Freedom – NY exemplifies Banton’s resilience and serves as a beacon of hope for fans worldwide. 

According to Tomlinson, “Having kicked off his world tour in Kingston, Jamaica with a historic performance at the National Stadium, Buju Banton is ready to continue spreading his message of unity and positivity through his music. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this unforgettable experience.”
