Detectives in the St James Policing Division have charged a second man in connection with the 2025 murder of a labourer at a party in Flankers, St James.
He is 36-year-old Davion Campbell, otherwise called ‘Tex’, a jet ski operator of Flankers, who has been charged with murder. Campbell joins 32-year-old Junior Young, who was charged with David Golding’s murder on Monday, August 26, 2025.
The 32-year-old deceased, otherwise known as ‘Papa’, was of Providence Heights, Flanker.
Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that about 2:05 am on Thursday, August 21, 2025, Golding was at a party when Campbell and another man approached and attacked him. A tussle reportedly developed, during which the other accused allegedly held onto Golding while Campbell withdrew a firearm from his waistband and opened fire, hitting him in the head. Both men then fled the scene.
The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Golding was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Campbell was handed over to the police by his attorney on Saturday, August 30, 2025, and was formally charged on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, following a question-and-answer session.
Both men are awaiting court dates.
