Rohan Rose, the security guard who was charged in relation to the murder of social media influencer Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend has been granted J$500,000 bail.

Rose’s attorney, Martyn Thomas, made the bail application on behalf of his client, which was granted today (November 28) when the accused appeared before the court.

The 47-year-old security guard was charged with misprision of a felony in relation to the murder, which means he knew about the murder of Townsend, but failed to report it to the police.

Justice Andrea Thomas, presiding judge on the case, granted the accused bail, after his attorney lobbied that he would not be a flight risk.

Rose was ordered by the St James Home Circuit court to report to the Lucea Police Station three times weekly and his travel documents were also seized, to ensure he does not flee the country.

The bail hearing for Rushawn Patterson, the other man accused in the murder case, will be on December 15.

Townsend’s body was found floating at Reading in St James by beach-goers on October 21.

Reports from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) are that she was strangled by Patterson after an argument took place between the two in Hanover.
