Motorists are being advised that a section of Marcus Garvey Drive, in the vicinity of Water Lane, is flooded by an overflow of sewage.
Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie, is urging motorists to avoid the road by using alternate routes where possible.
“There is an issue along Water Lane that is, from one leave Marcus Garvey Drive heading into downtown (Kingston), the sewage has overflowed. As a result of that traffic is very heavy because it has to slow right down. The traffic has backed up right onto the Causeway because of that. Motorists who can take other alternate routes may do so,” he advised on X, formerly Twitter.
