Cricket West Indies president Dr Kishore Shallow has conceded that the senior men’s team failed to deliver the results expected in 2025.
Under all format head coach Daren Sammy, the West Indies managed just one win from 10 Test matches, claimed victory in only one of five One Day International series, and won two of five T20I series over the year. Speaking during a radio interview, Shallow described the team’s overall output as below the required standard.

He acknowledged that responsibility does not rest with one person. Sammy, the players, and members of the CWI board all share the burden for a season that never truly gained momentum. While there were encouraging moments, including strong displays in Australia and Pakistan, they were too often followed by frustrating dips in form.
Shallow pointed to missed chances as a major source of disappointment, noting that several matches and series slipped away when victory seemed within reach. As the West Indies look forward to a better 2026, he made it clear that progress will depend on everyone pulling their weight and pushing standards higher across the board.
