

Three-time Olympic champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will remain as UNICEF Jamaica National Ambassador for a sixteenth year.
The “Pocket Rocket” has served in the role since 2010, working with the UN’s children’s aid agency having been first appointed 15 years ago as its first such ambassador.
The three-time Olympic champion and 10-time world champion in athletics has a degree in child and adolescent development, and has been a staunch proponent of children’s rights.
Since 2010, Fraser-Pryce has worked with the United Nations’ children’s aid agency in her country, trying to improve services for children in Jamaica.
In expressing joy at news of her reconfirmation on her Facebook page, Fraser Pryce wrote, “Making a difference for the next generation, one step at a time…Today I am proud to extend my role as the National Ambassador for UNICEF Jamaica and to continue the critical work of improving the quality of services for children and ensuring the protection of their rights.”
Fraser-Pryce, who has won a total of eight Olympic and 16 World Championships medals in her career, spoke of her pride in continuing in the role.
