It appears Skeng’s infectious new era of trap dancehall has stretched as far as the track, with multi-Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce admitting that, in one of her uploaded Twitter videos, where she is seen dancing, she was ‘vibing’ to a song from the artiste.

The mother-of-one, who clocked a season’s best of 22.41 seconds at the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday (May 28), in the 200m, some time last week uploaded a video of herself, airpods in, grooving to music during what appeared to be one her training sessions.

“Tell me track is life without telling me track me track is life. I’ll go first 😂…,” Fraser-Pryce wrote in the caption for the video.

In an interview with Citius Magazine’s Chris Chevez, the sprinter, when asked which song she was dancing to, said it was Skeng’s London.

“Alright, I’ll give you a joke first. Alright, so my friends were asking me what was I listening to and I told them I was listening Reading Rainbow…but truly no. I was actually listening to Skeng, [who] is an artiste from Jamaica. His song, London,” she excitedly shared.

Skeng, who recently performed in Guyana and Trinidad, is a rising star of the dancehall genre, and is currently the second most streamed artiste on YouTube in Jamaica, with London being the second most streamed song in the island on the platform as well, according to YouTube Charts.

Fraser-Pryce has never been one to shy away from Jamaica’s culture of music and dance. Back in 2019, at the Penn Relays, she was caught on video, once again, earphones in, doing Ding Dong’s Good Ting Dem dance.

Following the video, where the sprinter posted herself grooving to Skeng, she uploaded herself doing the popular Stir Fry dance, from another track by Ding Dong.

“My secret to a great practice? Set the vibe! A lil #ShellyShuffle for the win🤣😂 . This time I’m listening to Stir Fry x Ding Dong😝,” she wrote.
