Jamaican dancehall artistes Shenseea and Buju Banton are both feeling #blessed after this week featuring on the Billboard Hot 100.
In a first in Billboard Hot 100 placements, both artistes have their recent features on American rapper Kanye West’s recently released Donda album to thank.
West’s Believe What I Say which featured vocals from Banton landed at No. 28 on the chart, while Pure Souls another song from the album which featured the melodies of Shenseea and Roddy Rich ranked at No. 52 on the chart.
The Billboard Hot 100 counts weekly streaming (audio and video), radio airplay and sales data from all genres in the United States.
According to Billboard, 23 of Donda‘s 27 tracks charted on the Hot 100 this week.
In addition, the album also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart after selling an equivalent of 309, 000 units.
Reacting to the news which apparently came as a surprise, Shenseea on Tuesday (September 7) tweeted, “Bitch!!!!! I’m on the Billboard 100!! Jesus, is that you??.”
To which many of her fans responded sending congratulations and good vibes her way.

At the time of publication no reactionary comment from Buju Banton had been made, however, in an interview with Dancehall Magazine, Producer Donovan Germain, who has been credited for producing a number of Banton’s reggae hits, stated: “Buju has put in the work over the years and he deserves whatever success he is getting now.”
