Dancehall artist Shenseea saw the need to give back to her community by leading a giveaway/relief effort in her home parish, St Elizabeth, after Hurricane Beryl had left it in ruins.

“My last 48 hours have been wholesome as I prepared and distributed care and relief packages to my home parish, which has been drastically affected by #HurricaneBeryl I’m so grateful God put me in a position to take care of my people.” Shenseea posted to her Instagram a few snapshots from the event.

The 27-year-old singer has taken a significant step in her native parish by distributing food packages and tarpaulins to the people.

She shared her day’s activities on Instagram, with her son Rajeiro Lee accompanying her. The singer expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in her community.

The relief effort was aided by Romeich Entertainment. Reportedly, the head of the record label, Romeich Major, corresponded with the Member of Parliament for St Elizabeth South Western Floyd Green to get the scope of what the citizens most needed in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

The items distributed included snacks and other non-perishable food items, tarpaulins, plywood, and other building supplies for those who suffered infrastructural damage.

The post has garnered over 400,000 likes, with celebrities such as Diplo, Cecile, Dancing Rebel, and many more showing their appreciation of the ‘Blessed’ singer’s charitability and initiative.

“You have the most beautiful heart, Shen,” one Instagram user commented.

“This is exactly why the Lord has blessed you so abundantly. Keep making Jamaica proud,” another posted.

“Big thanks to my team, @romeichentertainment, for executing the vision… Always!” Shenseea wrote.
