Despite the massive backlash dancehall diva Shenseea has been receiving since the release of her collaborative single, Lick, with American rapper Megan Thee Stallion on Friday (January 21), the Jamaican artiste is looking forward to the upcoming release of her first major album in less than two months.

Amid the ‘noise’ around Lick, on social media yesterday, came the announcement that Shenseea’s album, Alpha, will be released on March 11.

Shenseea has over the past year been building up to her album debut, particularly since hiring new manager Wassim ‘Sal’ Slaiby, who also reps artistes including The Weeknd and Doja Cat.

Alpha will be released by producer Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants/ Interscope Records, which signed Shenseea in 2019.

Among the songs released by the artiste under Rich Immigrants are Blessed, Run Run, and Be Good.

Last year, Shenseea received a massive boost from her appearance on two well-received tracks from hip hop mogul Kanye West’s Donda album, as well as her appearance at one of his album listening shows.

She also raised her profile in the US with appearances a numerous events and has been hobknobbing with some of the biggest artistes in hip hop including Cardi B, Busta Rhymes, and Moneybagg Yo.
