Tokyo Olympic 100m bronze medalist Shericka Jackson clocked a fast 7.12 seconds for second place in the women’s 60m dash open event at the Tyson Invitational Indoor Meet in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday (February 11).
It took the second-fastest time in the world this year, a personal-best 7.04s from Mary Beth Sant-Price to defeat the Jamaican Olympian, who was making her season debut indoors. Jackson’s compatriot and MVP clubmate, Natasha Morrison, finished third in 7.35s.

The men’s 60m hurdles event was won by Australia’s Chris Douglas in 7.64s over American Jamal Britts (7.83s) and Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Ronald Levy, who ran 7.98s for third.
There was also competitive action in the field, where, in the long jump open, Laquan Nairn of the Bahamas soared out to 8.11m to get the better of Jamaica’s Carey McLeod.
The former Kingston College star, now a junior at Tennessee, jumped an NCAA-leading 8.07m for second place while John Baker of Arkansas took third with his best effort of 8.01m.
