Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson claimed second place in the women’s 200m at the Wanda Diamond League meet in Brussels, Belgium on Friday (September 3).

Jackson, the lone Jamaican in the quality field, finished in a sporty 21.95 seconds behind the winner Christine Mboma, the young Namibian upstart, who clocked in 21.84s.

Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain claimed third in a season’s best 22.04s ahead of US athlete Sha’Carri Richardson, who ran 22.45s in fourth.

Mboma’s run was not enough, however, to break the nearly 30-year meet record set by Jamaican legend Merlene Ottey—who ran a blistering 21.64s on September 13, 1991.
