GenX’s Carnival Band delivered on high expectations for Carnival 2025 with the opening of its showroom on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Sovereign Centre Mall in Liguanea, St Andrew.

After teasing carnival lovers with an exclusive virtual viewing party on Friday, November 15, eager masqueraders flocked to the showroom to see the costumes up close. The showroom’s sip and shop experience, powered by title sponsor Smirnoff, offered Carnival lovers an immersive preview of the band’s dazzling collection, themed Kingdom of the Sun.

As the evening unfolded, guests sipped on Smirnoff Ice while admiring the intricate craftsmanship of the designs. From mesh panels and fuller bras to straps, fringe details, custom shorts, chest coverage, and intricate leg accents, every masquerader found their perfect fit.

Nestled in one of the Corporate Area’s bustling hubs, the GenXs showroom offered ease of access and the ideal setting for showcasing the costumes.

This year’s collection includes Skai by Douglas John; Ashur by Solange Govia; Azula, Xova, Mezara, and Skoll by David Dewer; Eos and Suhraya by Alejandro Gomez; Helia by Shawn Dhanraj; Itoshii by Natalie Fonrose; Lyza by Sherice Dixon; and the Sun Seeker T-shirt section.

Inspired by the sun’s duality, each design reflects resilience, power, and celebration — showcasing bold colours, intricate details, and cutting-edge artistry. These pieces allow masqueraders to embody the sun’s transformative power as they hit the road on April 27, 2025.

As guests explored the collection, GenXs stirred excitement and anticipation to an all-time high for what they have in store for Carnival 2025.
