The search for missing University of Technology (UTech) student Anisa Dilworth came to a tragic end on Saturday (May 17) after police investigators found what they believed to be her skeletal remains in Portmore, St Catherine.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), in a terse social media statement, indicated that the remains were discovered along a beach in the Sunshine City.

“About 11:30 am on May 17, the police were alerted to the discovery of skeletal remains at a beach in Portmore and went to investigate. While formal identification is pending forensic analysis, investigators believe the remains belong to Ms Dilworth based on evidence found at the scene,” the police advised.

“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ms Dilworth’s disappearance and the discovery of the remains is ongoing. Detectives are currently pursuing several leads,” the JCF further noted.
