The dancehall star dropped two versions of his new single ‘Boom’ on August 1.
The second version of the song featured Dominican dembow rapper Tokischa on a traditional beat that resembles Shabba Rank’s ‘Dem Bow’ riddim.
The single features the controversial artiste rapping in a mix of Spanish and Jamaican patios, paying homage to Spice.
The original ‘Dem Bow’ riddim was a mash-up of the songs “Ku-Klung-Klung” and “Poco Man Jam”. After its popularity in the Hispanic Caribbean, Jamaican artiste, Shabba Ranks birthed the genre ‘Dembow’ in the Dominican Republic and influenced reggaeton in Puerto Rico.

Their collaboration is exciting for some dancehall and reggae fans, as it could possibly bring new dancehall and dembow songs in the future, given how closely aligned the two genres are.
Dancehall producers have collaborated with reggaeton artistes in the past. Rvssian has made hit songs with the biggest names in reggaeton like Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, Anuell AA and Farruko.
