Every great store deserves great exposure. Here, at Our Today, we highlight Jamaican entrepreneurs making a positive mark in the small business space. We believe every good business – particularly local stores with excellent customer service, trendy products and a strong social media presence – deserves to be recognised for its quality service.

UWI Carnival is fast approaching and for this week’s Small Business Bites, Our Today will be highlighting a business that has come up in time for the season.
Her Beauty Artistry is a business where customers can administer the services of Aimee Olaiya to apply their make up needs during the carnival needs.
Aimee Olaiya is a 20-year-old Economics major at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona, who since 2022, has been offering her services in cosmetology to young girls across the campus.

” I’ve loved beauty as a whole and I saw the opportunity to learn how to do what I love better and put smiles on women’s faces by enhancing their beauty,” said Olaiya.

Her Beauty Artistry was started in October 2022 after Olaiya completed her cosmetology training at TandyDoll Beauty Institute in Kingston and has already proven herself as a carnival cosmetologist when she administered the make-up for girls in costume during the UWI band launch.

In the near future Olaiyi said she wanted to eventually open her own shop and continue enhancing the looks of women.
