Renowned Canadian singer, whose music many Jamaicans have grown to love, has reportedly lost control of her muscles as she battles with stiff person syndrome (SPF).
Claudette Dion, sister of the I’m Alive singer, made the disclosure during a recent interview with the French magazine 7Jours.
“There are some who have lost hope because it is an illness that is not known. If you only knew how many calls we receive at the foundation to hear from Céline! People tell us they love her and pray for her. She receives so many messages, gifts, blessed crucifixes. She works hard, but she doesn’t have control of her muscles. What pains me is that she has always been disciplined. She always worked hard,” Dion said.
The If Walls Could Talk singer announced late last year that she has been battling with SPF, a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
The medical condition has caused the singer to put a pause on her long-standing music career, cancelling her tour dates for 2023 and 2024 as she deals with the neurological disorder.
