Global leader in real estate, Sotheby’s International Realty has officially opened the doors to its first location in Jamaica at the Super Value Town Centre, Constant Spring Road.

The ribbon was officially cut to signal the opening of the 1,200 square foot office space by Sotheby’s Jamaica CEO Julian Dixon, Director Daniel Melville and Delano Seivewright, senior strategist in the Ministry of Tourism.

The event was aimed at building connections, cultivating long-term professional relationships and give an introduction to the company affiliates while giving clients a physical space to meet with sales agents, according to Dixon.

Seivwright said the move by such a reputable and longstanding company in real estate, coming to Jamaica, is a big deal.

“Since the launch of Jamaica Sotheby’s International Realty, we have acquired numerous listings, and our properties are featured on the international host website and Bloomberg.”

“Sotheby’s has a great history, spanning over 200 years. Setting up in Jamaica speaks volumes. There is a greater need for condos and a pivot in tourism for more villa-type, recreational facilities, so Sotheby’s has come at the opportune time,” he said.

Dixon, considered a major force in the real estate industry for a number of years, said the real estate market in Jamaica is evolving and booming at this time.

“Since the launch of Jamaica Sotheby’s International Realty, we have acquired numerous listings, and our properties are featured on the international host website and Bloomberg,” Dixon said.

“With the help of our senior management team and our fantastic host company, we have been welcomed warmly into the market. We can see ourselves thriving as the luxury real estate market develops in Jamaica and more persons look here to vacation, have alternate homes or settle permanently. This support has also translated to a lot of international referrals and more global reach for our listings.”
