Tesla and X boss Elon Musk is blasting the South African government led by President Cyril Ramaphosa as being racist against white people who live in the country.
U.S. President Donald Trump has also called out the South African regime for treating whites unfairly and is allowing them to seek refuge in America.
Musk said: “Why are there racist laws in South Africa? All races should be treated equally, and there should be no preference given to one or the other. There are 140 laws in South Africa that give a strong preference to blacks
“I’m in the absurd situation where I was born in South Africa but can’t get a licence to operate Starling there because I’m not black. Does that seem right?”
When Nelson Mandela ran South Africa, he went to great lengths to ease racial tensions and form a more inclusive country, calling for greater participation in nation-building from all races.
Taking to X, Elon Musk wrote: “ South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was born there, simply because I am not black!
“We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a licence by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle.
“Racism should not be rewarded, no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politician in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly racist!”
For his part, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says he pays little attention to Elon Musk’s tweets and social media statements.
“Our laws are not racists they are empowerment laws that are meant to empowerment laws that are meant to empower the the various people in our who were discriminated against.
This discrimination was perpetrated against Black people, Africans, and Indians. It was perpetrated against the women our country. What we are seeking to do is redress the imbalances of the past and to do so, the Constitution has empowered us to pass laws that are empowering, not racist.
“It is interesting to me that Elon Musk does not talk about the racist laws of the past. Those laws in the past actually said Black people may not do A, B, C, D. They may not lived in this place or that place, sir do certain jobs. This was delineated by race. You will never again see race-based laws in South Africa, “ said President Ramaphosa.
