Spice named most streamed female dancehall artist on YouTube for 2022

Dancehall queen Spice has been named 2022’s most streamed Jamaican female artiste on YouTube with 406 million views for the year.

The dancehall sensation, who has been recovering since suffering a health scare after surgery, expressed her gratitude through a social media post on Saturday (December 31).

The So Mi Like It artiste was ranked number five overall in the most streamed Jamaican dancehall artistes category on YouTube behind Sean Paul, who secured the number one spot with 1.2 billion global views overall and 2.5 million views locally.

Sean Paul was followed by Bob Marley and the Wailers with 678 million views; Shaggy with 522 million views and Vybz Kartel with 415 million views.

Spice has been counting her wins for 2022, havin secured her first Grammy nomination in the Best Reggae Album category for her debut album, 10, which was released in August 2021.

The Grammy nominated artiste also saw her album, Emancipated, which was released in August 2022, securing four entries on the Billboard Reggae Album chart.
