Spice shares her ’10 Ms’ for success in business at Flow’s InKnowvation

Grace Hamilton, more popularly known as Spice, has been on the music industry scene since the year 2000. Since then, Spice has become one of the most successful and popular dancehall artistes from Jamaica, even being deemed the ‘Queen of Dancehall’ by Vogue magazine.

Not only has Hamilton been on the music scene, but she has also planted her foot in the business world, being involved in several fields including real estate, the beauty industry and her very own clothing line.

Flow recently launched its ‘InKnowvation: Small Business Fridays’ live stream sessions. This is a space Flow has created, for its Small Business Month, where established business owners can share their experiences and ideas, to help small business owners. Hamilton – a Flow ambassador and the CEO of Spice Official Entertainment; Graci Noir, a clothing brand; and Faces & Laces, a company that provides full lace wigs – was Friday’s keynote speaker.

With a flood of people logging on to hear her thoughts, Hamilton commenced by addressing how significant her past was in paving her future as a businesswoman. Both her parents had their own little ‘hustle’, so being business minded has always been in the family.

Hamilton, who said she became a businesswoman from the tender age of 6, learning about basic business principles such as profit and loss.

The entertainer then went on share the different steps one should take to create their own business, using relatable and creative analogies.

The DJ highlighted the 10 M’s she conceptualised for her businesses. The 10 M’s also play on her recently released debut album 10, with popular songs such as Guh Down Deh and Send it Up, which is currently amassing acclaim.

They are Master plan, Manufacturing, Manifest, Money, Motivated, Marketing, Margin, Multiply, Management and Maintaining.

After her presentation, Hamilton engaged in a Q & A segment led by host, Talia Soares.

Hamilton encouraged viewers to remain focused on the goal they want to achieve for their business and to never be afraid to fail.

“Money don’t have foot. You have foot, so walk and guh look for it,” she shared.
