Passengers aboard a Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles, California were met with an unusual co-traveller last week: a large rodent later dubbed the ‘super rat’. The bizarre encounter unfolded mid-flight and has since gone viral thanks to a clip shared by Dallas Texas TV.
The incident, which reportedly took place on an unspecified date, began as passengers settled into their seats for the journey. Amid the typical pre-flight announcements, a figure caught the attention of travellers. As the plane cruised at altitude, a creature’s front paws became visible through the glass panelling on the cabin ceiling, prompting gasps and laughter from those who noticed.

In the video, a passenger can be heard exclaiming “Super rat!” as the rodent sniffed around before darting away, leaving a trail of amused and bewildered travellers in its wake.
