St Andrew man charged in crash that killed businessman, motor vehicle inspector

The driver implicated in the death of two men following a collision on Washington Boulevard in St Andrew in late September has been charged.

Police have identified the man charged as Tor Anuar McIntosh of Rovan Heights, Kingston 6.

He is charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

Reports from the Duhaney Park Police are that at about 3:35 am on Saturday, September 28 two motorists stopped along the roadway to assist another motorist who had an accident.

The two men were reportedly standing along the roadway when they were hit by a motor car. The injured men were both taken to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

They have since been identified as 37-year-old Javaughn Rodney, a motor vehicle inspector of Dagwood Place, Ebonyville in Spanish Town, St Catherine and 50-year-old businessman, Mark Garrick of Rudolph Avenue, Kingston 20.

The driver of the motor car was arrested in the aftermath of the accident. Following investigations, he was charged. His court date is being finalized.
