St Catherine construction worker charged with robbery

A construction worker of Rodney Hall Road in Linstead, St Catherine, has been arrested and charged with two counts of robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a weapon to commit a felony for two separate incidents in Spring Gully district in Linstead.

He is 22-year-old Ricardo Davey.

According to the police, the first incident occurred on Tuesday, December 26, around 11:05 p.m. Davey was reportedly armed with a firearm, held up, and robbed the complainant of his two LG cellular phones valued at J$25,000 each and fled the area on foot.

The second incident reportedly happened on Wednesday, December 27, around midnight. Reports are that the complainant was along the roadway when Davey approached him.

It is reported that the accused, who was armed with a firearm, held up and robbed him of his iPhone 6 cellular phone valued at J$40,000 and fled the area on foot.

The police say following investigations, Davey was positively pointed out by the complainants on an identification parade and was subsequently charged in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is yet to be finalised.
