St Elizabeth man charged with murder of 20-year-old sister

A St Elizabeth man has been charged with the murder of his 20-year-old sister, Iyanla Hicks of Sunny Heights, Thorton district in the parish.
The accused 22-year-old Daniel Francis, also known as ‘Cuttie,’ was charged on Monday, February 10, after providing a statement admitting to the crime.
He is said to be of unsound mind.
It is reported that the deceased was found lying in blood by a different sibling who went to visit her last Friday evening.
The police say Hicks was killed sometime between 4 pm and 7 pm on Friday, February 7.
Francis’ court date is to be finalised.
The incident is the first murder in the parish since the start of the year.
