

Schools across Jamaica including St. Francis Primary and Carberry Court Special School came together to celebrate Read Across Jamaica Day, a joyful event dedicated to promoting literacy and the joy of reading among Jamaican youth.
The event brought students, educators, and community members together in a spirit of literary exploration and fun.
CIBC Caribbean Jamaica joined in collaboration at both schools, engaging students in storytelling sessions and interactive reading activities.

Among those in attendance were some of the bank’s senior staff members, managing director Nigel Holness, Jerome Griffiths, head of Human Resources, Renee Whitehorne, marketing manager, and Sherian McDonald, corporate senior manager of Deals Management.

Throughout the day, students were captivated by engaging stories read aloud by the guests, sparking their imaginations and nurturing a deeper appreciation for literature.
From classic children’s tales to tales of adventure and discovery, the event showcased the magic of storytelling in igniting curiosity and creativity in young minds.
Jerome Griffiths, head of human resources, praised the dedication of the schools and their commitment to promoting literacy for all students.
