A St James man is facing the court following an alleged assault stemming from an altercation at a bar in Flanker late last year.

O’Brian Streete appeared before Judge Natiesha Fairclough-Hylton in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, where he was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm against a woman from his community. He is being represented by attorney Dalton Reid.

The court heard that the incident reportedly took place on December 20, 2025. According to the prosecution, the complainant had been at a nearby ball field before stopping at a bar in Flanker, St James, where she encountered Streete.

It is alleged that a gesture described in court as the woman “cutting her eyes” at Streete led to a confrontation. Prosecutors claim Streete approached her and slapped her on the left side of the face.

The force of the alleged blow reportedly caused the woman to fall, hitting the back of her head on the ground. Individuals inside the establishment are said to have assisted her afterwards.

The court was told that the woman later discovered she had sustained swelling to her face, a bleeding nose, and two broken teeth. She subsequently reported the matter to the police, and Streete was arrested and charged.

The case has been referred to restorative justice. Streete’s bail was extended, and the matter is scheduled to be mentioned again on March 25.
