The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is reporting that the St. Mary Police Division’s most wanted fugitive turned himself in.
Andrew ‘Bapm’ Dixon, who was wanted for shooting and wounding with intent, surrendered to the constabulary on Thursday, June 12, accompanied by a pastor and several family members.
Dixon had recently been featured in the JCF’s ‘Wanted Wednesday’ updates, having jumped up to being St Mary’s most wanted following the fatal shooting of Gaveen Hurd in May.
Hurd, who had escaped the Orcabessa lockup in December 2023, where he was held on a charge of murder, was gunned down during a confrontation with the police.
According to the official report, lawmen had made their way to a premises in Kingston, searching for illegal firearms and criminals. Upon seeing the police, Hurd drew a weapon and sparked a gun battle before he was fatally hit.

Gavin Orlando Adams, Hurd’s brother, has also been recently arrested and charged by the St Mary police, accused of being involved in a local lottery scam racket.
St Mary is often described as one of the more ‘quiet’ parishes as it relates to illegal activities. According to Jamaica Constabulary Force statistics, from January 1 to June 7, St Mary tied with Hanover as the parishes with the second-fewest number of major crimes.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, St. Mary has seen a 33 per cent reduction in murders, a 60 per cent reduction in rapes, and a 6 per cent reduction in break-ins. Whilst incidents of robbery have increased by 50 per cent, the overall number of major crimes has fallen from 49 to 45 when contrasted with the 2024 timeframe.
