St Thomas’ Lyssons on way to 4th straight INSPORTS Devon Biscuits Eastern Championship

Lyssons on their way to retaining their INSPORTS Devon Biscuits Primary Schools Eastern Championships.

Defending champions Lysson Primary School are well on their way to making it four straight victories in the INSPORTS Devon Biscuits Primary Schools Eastern Championship, amassing 99.5 points at the Stadium East facility.

Lyssons have established a 56.5 point lead after 11 finals on the penultimate day, and with 29 finals set for Friday, the St Thomas school are well on their way to retain their title.

Corporate Area school St Patrick’s Primary are sitting n second spot on 43 points, just ahead of Lawrence Tavern on 42. Half-Way-Tree Primary, on 39 points, are fourth ahead of Harbour View and St Richard’s Primary are joint fifth on 38 points each.

Five records were broken with Kemoy Jones of Seaside Primary in the Boys’ Cricketball Open establishing a new mark of 57.01m well above the previous record of 55.69m, held by Gersham Carr of Red Hill Primary since 2024.

Ariel Shaw of St Patrick lowered the Girls’ Class Four 60m dash to 9.08 seconds, bettering the 9.17 held by Shemika Dobbs of Winward Road since 2024.

Three records were broken in the 4×100 relays. In the Boys’ Class Three 4×100 relays, Lyssons sped to 54.16, dipping below the 55.04 established by Windward Road in 2024.

In the Girls’ Class Two St Richard’s turned in a splendid 53.00, taking down Lyssons’ 2023 record of 53.89. Morant Bay Primary broke the Boys’ Class Two, stopping the clock at 53.36 seconds.
