Christopher Zacca, CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica, was a good footballer back in the day and had athletic prowess.

The Americans have a saying, “ Big man on campus”, he guy who is equally gifted both as an academic and athlete. That was Zacca in his Campion days.

The image of the paunchy middle-aged executive is something never associated with him. He continues to be sprightly and has the bearings of a man of vitality and vigour.

That was on display at last week’s Sigma run which drew huge crowds.

Speaking with Our Today, Zacca said: “As CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica, and the new chairman of the Sagicor Jamaica Foundation, I was overwhelmed with pride at the record success of the Sigma Honour Run.

“Pride in my team at Sagicor, pride in so many Jamaican organisations who sponsored, donated, or participated, and pride in the many many thousands of Jamaicans who participated, or otherwise contributed to the amazing event.

“I actually walked the entire route as a participant this year, and was amazed at the positive spirit of unity and camaraderie amongst us all. The Sigma Honour Run was in honour of our founder, the late R. Danny Williams, a giant of Jamaica in business and philanthropy, and I am sure looking down on us, he would have been pleased at how kind and great we can be as a people united behind a worthy cause, a positive view of our country that he always held dear.”
