Allison Mais is not the kind of executive who waits for things to happen; she makes them happen—and at VM Investments Limited (VMIL) and VM Wealth Management Limited (VMWM), that’s exactly what she’s been doing since she joined the business in early 2022 from GraceKennedy.

Fifteen months into her tenure, Mais has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) for both entities—a move that speaks volumes about the direction in which the business is heading: forward, fast, and focused.

At a time when operational excellence, digital transformation, and customer experience are defining competitive advantage in financial services, Mais brings the rare combination of strategic vision and flawless execution. It’s a blend that VMIL/VMWM is counting on as it scales its operations and deepens its client focus.

Rezworth Burchenson, CEO of VM Wealth Management delivered a key messaging at the Mona School of Business and Management’s Jamaican Securities Industry Seminar.

“Allison’s impact has been impressive with great promise of much more to come,” said Rezworth Burchenson, CEO of VMIL and VMWM. “She’s brought added discipline, clarity and energy to our operations. This promotion is a strategic step to strengthen our core and prepare for accelerated growth.”

Mais’s career tells a story of consistent evolution. She has carved out a reputation as a results-oriented leader who knows how to turn big ideas into measurable outcomes.

She is focused on leveraging her experience in an environment she describes as “ambitious, agile, and Client-driven.”

“This is a pivotal time for VMIL/VMWM,” she said. “We’re laying the groundwork for sustainable growth, not just through digital innovation, but by building more efficient systems, creating seamless experiences for our clients, and empowering our teams to deliver consistently high performance.”

Her portfolio as COO spans the full operational footprint of both VMIL and VMWM. It’s a responsibility she embraces with equal parts confidence and humility.

“I see my role as one of enablement,” she explained, “making sure that the people, processes and technology are all aligned to deliver the kind of business results our clients expect and our Shareholders deserve.”

Mais holds degrees in Computing and IT (University of Technology) and Manufacturing, Management & Information Systems (Cranfield University, UK), along with professional certifications in Change Management, Agile Leadership, ESG, Financial Markets, and Financial Modelling from institutions such as Yale, Wharton, Columbia, and Boston University.

Her promotion signals more than a career milestone—it’s a sign of VMIL/VMWM’s intent to compete at the highest level in an evolving financial landscape.

“Strong leadership at the operational level is essential to everything we’re building,” Burchenson added. “Allison’s appointment is part of a broader strategy to fortify the business, deliver greater efficiency, and position VMIL and VMWM as regional industry leaders for years to come.”

For Mais, it’s all about the journey ahead.

“There’s a strong foundation in place,” she said. “Now it’s about elevating everything – our processes, our performance, and the experience we create for every single Client. That’s what excites me most.”

Her vision for the business is clear: to see the organisation becoming a fortified company that is differentiated on diversification, service quality and trust—a goal that aligns closely with the company’s growth ambitions and commitment to delivering long-term value.
