Jamaica’s throwback party Strictly 2K is announcing a groundbreaking partnership with Boom Energy Drink to honor stellar icons of the entertainment and cultural industry who have made significant contributions during the 2000s and 2010s.
As part of our eighth-anniversary celebrations, we will present awards to the inaugural honorees: Vybz Kartel, Keiva Di Diva and Chromatic Sound, recognizing their indelible impact on dancehall culture.
According to Kadeehca Henry, Brand Manager for Boom Energy Drink, this partnership aligns perfectly with Boom’s long-standing support for the dancehall genre.
“Boom is dancehall, and we are thrilled to partner with Strictly 2K to celebrate these trailblazers who have shaped the sound and style of Jamaican music and culture. This initiative builds on our legacy of contributing to the growth and recognition of dancehall, both locally and internationally.”
Promoter of Strictly 2K, Shaun ‘ZJ Chrome’ Chablal, emphasized the significance of this initiative as the event celebrates its eighth year. “From day one, Strictly 2K has been about celebrating the golden era of dancehall which is the 2000s-2010s. For this milestone anniversary, we wanted to go beyond the music and find a way to honour those who have made exceptional contributions to the culture. We are excited to present our honorees with their plaques during the event as a token of appreciation for their invaluable impact.”
Vybz Kartel who came on to the scene in the early 2000s is widely recognized as a King of the dancehall for his dominance in the 2000s and 2010s.
