Strong winds, cloudiness to dominate local weather into weekend, Met Service says

A mix of sunny, cloudy and gusty conditions will persist well into the weekend, says the Jamaica Meteorological Service, amid the lingering effects of a high-pressure ridge and low-level jet stream on Wednesday (January 10).
The Met Service, in its 5:00 am forecast, indicated that as strong winds buffet southern parishes, morning conditions mostly sunny, with isolated showers across sections of eastern parishes.
Skies later give way to isolated afternoon showers across sections of south-central parishes and hilly areas, while it should be partly cloudy and windy elsewhere.
The respective maximum temperature expected for major cities Kingston and Montego Bay is 30 and 29 degrees Celsius.
