Studio LC, the creative partnership between leading telecoms provider Liberty Caribbean and advertising agency McCann Port of Spain, has won five ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation.

The recognition marks a remarkable milestone for Studio LC in just its first year of existence, demonstrating the strength and promise of the hybrid agency model.

“Studio LC was created to place Caribbean creative talent at the centre of our brand work to be the driving force behind a bold, culturally rooted creative practice. Its first mandate was the ‘Riddim’ rebrand for Flow, and the campaign was conceived to reflect Caribbean culture and identity, and its resonance across markets has now been recognised by the industry’s highest honours,” said Inge Smidts, chief executive officer, Liberty Caribbean.

Liberty Caribbean are the operators of Flow, Liberty Business and BTC.

“In building Studio LC, we set out to create a truly Caribbean creative engine that brings client and agency talent together around a shared cultural purpose. These awards validate that approach and signal a new chapter for creative excellence across the region. We are proud of the work produced and even more proud of the people who made it possible,” added Smidts.

Studio LC’s work was honoured across five categories, taking Gold for Flow’s Riddim TV Ad, and Silver for Flow’s Riddim Illustrations, the Flow Valentine’s Day Campaign, the Flow Prepaid Campaign, and its Integrated Brand Identity Campaign.

Stephen Look Tong, chief executive officer at McCann Port of Spain, reflected on the collaboration that underpins Studio LC’s success.

“Studio LC began as a bold idea to build a truly Caribbean agency that brings together the best client talent and the best agency talent to work seamlessly as a singular, focused creative powerhouse. We believed this team could become one of the best in the region, and winning five ADDY Awards in our very first year shows we’re on the right track. I’m incredibly proud of what this team has achieved,” he said.

Khyron Danclair, head of creative strategy and Studio LC lead, described the recognition as an early sign of the agency’s potential.

“Winning five ADDY Awards in our first year reflects the incredible talent within this team. Leading Studio LC and having the opportunity to work on a brand as iconic as Flow has been truly special, and this recognition is proof that we are only just getting started,” he said.

The ADDY Awards, formally known as the American Advertising Awards, are widely regarded as the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting between 25,000 and 35,000 entries each year from agencies, brands, and creative professionals.
