The Jamaica Meteorological Service says citizens can expect mixed sunny, cloudy and windy conditions as the island’s weather is influenced by a high-pressure ridge and low-level jet stream on Emancipation Day (August 1).

The Met Service, in its 5:00 am forecast, said that both formations should persist until August 2, with a trough expected to move into Jamaican skies on Wednesday.

A tropical wave straddling the eastern Caribbean Sea is the only other major feature at this time, as a lingering plume of Saharan dust all but dissipates plume over the region.

The maximum temperature anticipated for major Jamaican cities, Kingston and Montego Bay, is 34 degrees Celcius respectively.
