A man alleged to be the mastermind behind the importation of 21 guns into the island in March has been arrested.

The arrest was conducted by members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) at a party in Ocho Rios, St Ann yesterday (August 7).

The Jamaica Constabulary Force, in a press release, stated that the man’s identity will be withheld pending formal charges.

The find was made when personnel from Jamaica Customs noticed anomalies with a package. A call was made to (C-TOC) which resulted in 21 guns being found.

There were 18 handguns, three rifles and a large cache of ammunition seized by the police at a warehouse in Kingston on March 4.
