Following its initial public offering (IPO) of shares last month, Sygnus Real Estate Finance (SRF), has announced shares sold under the IPO are now listed and trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Main Market as of Tuesday, October 5.  

SRF has become the second alternative investment company managed by Sygnus to be listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange within the last four years.

The SRF IPO, raised an estimated $2.3 billion from both the Jamaican dollar and US dollar share classes and the company received a total of 1,153 subscriptions from subscribers in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean region. 

Sygnus CEO & Co-Founder, Berisford Grey during his opening remarks at the official listing ceremony held at the Jamaica Stock Exchange said that, “having the opportunity to list Sygnus Real Estate Finance, our second alternative investment company, is a tremendous milestone for Sygnus. As a listed company, SRF will continue to strive to unlock value for shareholders across the region by strategically investing in a diversified pool of real estate opportunities.” 

He said SRF will commit to upholding best practices, strong corporate governance and robust risk management to always protect shareholders value. SRF, which provides flexible capital (debt or equity) to all classes of real estate assets (commercial, industrial or residential) is one of the first real estate companies of its kind to be listed on the JSE. 

The company has employed an investment strategy that focuses on using flexible capital debt or equity to extract value from real estate assets.

SRF invests across all categories of the real estate asset class, including industrial, commercial, residential, hospitality, and infrastructure.
