Taste of Norway: Saltfish delights food tour

The Taste of Norway: Saltfish Delights pop-up event, hosted by the Norwegian Seafood Council, made its first stop at UDC Orange Park in Downtown Kingston on Friday, September 13 and the second stop at the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre. 

The event showcased the versatility of saltfish from Norway with an array of unique and innovative dishes, served to welcoming passersby.

Servers, donned in Saltfish from Norway branded aprons, handed out food samples, offering a true taste of Norwegian saltfish infused with Jamaican culture and flavours.

Throughout the day Burgerman kept the vibe going with a live broadcast on Edge FM.

Dancers added vibrant entertainment and competitions and giveaways created an immersive cultural experience.

The Saltfish from Norway Pop-Up tour aims to highlight the culinary bond between Norway and Jamaica, through seafood.

Interesting saltfish dishes at the pop-up events included cold saltfish salad on crackers, saltfish fried rice with scotch bonnet sweet and sour sauce, and curry saltfish with pressed plantain.

These allowed guests to explore new ways to enjoy this beloved staple from a source where health and sustainability are key priorities.
