Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has taken another step along its digital road map with the introduction of its first non-cash location in the Cross Roads area.

The cashless office located in the Regal Plaza, Cross Roads will become operational today (December 1) and will operate the standard operational hours (Mon – Wed 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Thur & Fri 8:30 am – 3:00 pm).

This new location will be an expanded service feature of the existing Cross Roads Tax Office, located across from it.

Taxpayers are advised that the location will only offer non-cash services, which means that persons may only conduct their transactions using a credit card or debit card to make payments. Additionally, not all services will be available at the location.

Those being offered are the payment of drivers licence examination fees, expungement fees, fitness fees, hackney carriage fees, property taxes, provisional drivers licence, structural verification and traffic tickets. The office will also facilitate insurance request, lost documents, lost passport, police records and valuation reports services that will be offered by the Taxpayer Service and Education Unit.

Motor vehicle transactions will not be processed at this location. Collection of cash and the processing of all other services will continue at the main Cross Roads Tax Office.

Customers are also reminded that several services are available online via TAJ’s website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

These include the payment of property tax, motor vehicle certificate of fitness fee, and driver’s licence renewal fee payment, traffic ticket fines, business-related taxes and fees. Persons may also query their property tax liability, apply for a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) or apply for Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC).

TAJ says it continues to reengineer its business processes and service features, to strengthen its focus on digital technologies in keeping with the its mandate to add greater value to its service offerings for greater convenience and efficiency.
