Taxi operator charged with robbery with violence

Thirty-six-year-old Jason Higgins, a taxi operator of Devon Avenue, Kingston 5 was charged with robbery with violence following an incident on Duke Street, downtown, Kingston on Saturday.

Reports from the Central Police Station are that at about 9:30 am, Higgins entered the rear passenger seat of a woman’s car that was parked and started choking her.

He hit the woman several times in the face before robbing her of her phone then escaped in the area. A report was made to the police who later arrested and charged Higgins after he was identified.

His court date is being finalised.
